Pizza with Anything

From Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at www.dorothymcnett.com. One of a thousand versions...making this your basic recipe and you are only limited by your imagination! In Iowa this summer we had Taco Pizza.

Pizza dough recipe
Pesto or tomato sauce to spread over crust
Olives
Salami, Sausages
Tapenade, Salsas, Sauces
Cooked diced vegetables, especially green or red peppers
Tuna or other selections
Basil Leaves
Chopped onions, garlic, other vegetables
Parmigiano-Reggiano
Fontina or other cheeses
Olive Oil

Place pizza or baking stone on bottom rack of oven. Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Prepare dough. Sprinkle pizza peel with cornmeal. Roll out dough and place on peel. Spread with a little sauce, tapenade, or pesto. Sprinkle or arrange other ingredients over sauce. Brush edges with olive oil. Slip pizza onto hot stone in oven. Bake 15-20 minutes, or until browned and crisp. It depends on the thickness of the crust, the type of filling, etc. Place on cutting board, allow to cool slightly and cut into slices.
