Asian cooks have always steamed their rice, and lately electric rice cookers have become very popular. A microwave oven is a natural steamer, and makes all rice cooking a breeze. You need a covered dish or a microwave rice cooker. 1 cup white rice Put all ingredients in a batter bowl or covered casserole dish. Cover and cook on high for 5 minutes, then on 1/2 power for 14-15 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve. Or, follow the instructions that came with your electric rice cooker.
