Pizza Fondue

From Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at www.dorothymcnett.com. Serve with Chianti / Sangiovese!

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 pound ground chuck or ground turkey
1 small onion, chopped
1-2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cans (10 oz. each) pizza sauce or well seasoned spiced tomato sauce (see recipe)
1cup shredded natural Cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded natural mozzarella cheese (or fontina)
cubed French bread

Select a meat fondue pan or a heavy bottomed skillet or saute pan. Heat the oil, add the onion and garlic. Cook and stir several minutes, then add the ground meat to cook thoroughly. Add the sauce and cheeses, stirring to melt. Transfer pan to fondue burner, regulating the heat so that the mixture will not burn on the bottom. Provide fondue forks and plenty of bread cubes.
