See Also: Desserts · Pies and Tarts Almond Apple PieFrom Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at www.dorothymcnett.com. Crust: Prepare basic pie crust. Divide into 2 equal parts. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll first crust out to 12-inches. Place in 9-inch pie plate. Combine the next 6 ingredients in batter bowl. Peel, core and slice apples. Gently toss apple slices with sugar mixture. Turn into prepared pie crust. Sprinkle apples with almonds and almond extract. Dot with small pieces of butter. Roll out second crust to 13-inches.
