Fruit Cake or Plum Pudding Sauce

From Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at www.dorothymcnett.com. Hint: Also, use COLD as a salad dressing over greens with sliced pears, nuts, cheeses and etc. This was a big hit in one of my cooking classes.

1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup white vinegar or lemon juice, or brandy or rum
1 tablespoon vanilla

Whisk egg into water; add remaining ingredients. Microwave on high 2 minutes. Whisk. Microwave 2 minutes. Whisk. Serve hot or cold.
